The extensive UK housebuilding agenda and efforts to build the economy post-COVID are just some of the factors placing renewed pressure on build times.
Coupled with rapidly evolving zero-carbon regulations and the increasing frequency of extreme weather conditions caused by climate change, those working in the construction industry – as well as private individuals – face their most trying times ever when it comes to keeping up with these combined demands.
Added to this, legislation is constantly moving the goalposts when it comes to the standards developers need to meet, as users’ expectations increase around the comfort, longevity, sustainability and robustness of their built environments.
‘Cold bridges’, which allow moisture and cold air to ingress into properties, exacerbated by traditional materials like moisture-absorbent cement and mortar, will soon be outlawed.
Our expanded clay brick building systems use a specially formulated, water-resistant foam mortar alternative called Tytan Cement from foundation level, eradicating such problems.

More strength, less weight
Expanded clay bricks are much lighter than traditional clay bricks – meaning that more can be transported in every load, reducing cost and timescales for delivery – as well as creating less fatigue among your busy workforce.
Expanded clay bricks also have more strength than traditional clay bricks – eradicating the limits on how high you can go in each build stage before allowing drying time.
They are also superbly resistant to water and damp, removing the threat of cold bridges to maximise the heating efficiency of properties and offer excellent resistance against weather extremes like flooding.

The expanded clay hollow block from the ENERGO group is an eco-friendly product made of expanded clay concrete with the addition of perlite. It is recommended for the construction of outer walls of ground and first floors in detached houses. It is also suitable for erecting energy-efficient and passive houses, which have a very low energy consumption. It is characterised by high acoustic insulation, which means that walls made from it absorb noise well indoors. The high thermal resistance and high vapour permeability allow the building to retain heat for longer. The hollow block has a high resistance to moisture, thus preventing the formation of mould and fungi. Another advantage is very high fire resistance, which increases fire safety. Thanks to the appropriately designed wall thickness and air channels of the hollow block, running electrical and plumbing installations is easy and protects against excessive damage to the element. The relatively smooth surface of the hollow block does not require the need for internal plasters.

Expanded clay and perlite acoustic hollow block is a high class ecological element of the ENERGO group with unique technical features. It is ideally suited for the construction of partition walls between rooms. It has excellent noise protection and high vapour permeability, which ensures a pleasant atmosphere in the room. In addition, it is very resistant to fire and produces no toxic substances in the event of a fire. Walls made of PK AQ-12 are recommended to be installed in horizontal and vertical joints. Durable structure of the hollow block allows for using thin layer mortars. Despite the small width, this product is very stable during masonry due to the use of a tongue and groove in the vertical joint. The hollow block's well designed wall thickness and air ducts makes it easy to run electrical and plumbing installations and protects against excessive damage to the unit. The product is also easy to machine.

The expanded clay and perlite hollow block is a versatile combination of the two materials. The aggregates are ideal for construction as they are lightweight and environmentally friendly. The expanded clay block is perfect for the construction of partition walls, basement walls and single-layer walls. Given the material used, the element has a low weight. It insulates heat very well and exhibits high vapour permeability, so that no moisture forms in the room. Its excellent fire resistance guarantees fire safety. In addition, the surface is relatively smooth, which makes it possible to dispense with internal plaster. The high quality of the hollow block allows the use of thin-bed mortars. The product can also be easily machined.

This eco-friendly product is perfect for building partition, basement and single-leaf walls. For the material used, the hollow block is relatively lightweight. Thanks to its porous structure, insulates heat very well and has high vapour permeability, protecting the building from moisture. It has good thermal insulation and thermoregulation properties, making it resistant to both frost and fire. Its surface is relatively smooth, so there is no need for applying interior plasters. Walls of the hollow block should be built for horizontal and vertical joints. This product is easily processed (sawing, cutting, drilling).

The acoustic block CJ Blok® 18 cm wide is an ecological product with excellent quality. It is used in erecting load-bearing walls (facing and exposed), partitions, e.g. garages and livestock buildings. It is increasingly common for developers to purchase this block and using it for building walls separating apartments in multi-family housing. The wall made of expanded clay block gives very high sound insulation while using gypsum plaster on both sides of the wall. Due to the good thermal insulation properties, the walls made of the block guarantee thermal comfort in residential premises. In addition, the product does not absorb water, which allows for avoiding the development of mould and fungi. The block with its properties has optimal dimensions so that rooms get extra space. These products have special recesses in the upper surface that make their lifting and assembly much easier.

The block is very lightweight and has excellent thermal insulation and high vapor permeability, which means that a thinner layer of insulation can be used. Another important advantage of the product is its very good sound insulation and high resistance to fire, frost and moisture. In addition, its smooth surface does not need plastering. Very precise workmanship allows for using thin-layer mortars.
